Background and Training

In 1990 I trained in Therapeutic Massage at the Northern Institute of Massage in Blackpool (a school that had been established in the 1960's) and over the next few years trained in Holistic Aromatherapy (London School of Aromatherapy), Lymphatic Drainage Massage, S.H.E.N Emotional Release Therapy and Reiki Healing.

My main passion however has been spiritual and emotional growth, and I have spent many years searching for effective ways to achieve this. In 2004 I came accross Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and finally felt that I'd found what I was looking for as far as clearing emotional issues are concerned. EFT, because it is so simple to apply, cleanly and elegantly facilitates deep healing whether it is being applied directly to problems or is being used to enhance other therapeutic approaches.

After training in EFT I then trained in EmoTrance, NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) and Hypnotherapy to complement EFT.

More recently (spring 2009) I have trained in Theta Healing which takes changework to a whole new level as, apart from rapid emotional healing it can also be used to deeply enhance spiritual practice.

Work Experience

Since 1990 I have had my own therapy and teaching practice.

Between 1990 and 2000 I worked as a massage therapist in a community health project called The Craigmiller Health Project (now called BeWell) and also taught massage and aromatherapy courses for Community Education.

I have also worked steadily in community settings and other organisations; these include Panmure House, Milan, NEDAC, MECCOP, Pilmeny Development Project, Positive Voice, Solas, the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Ca(i)re, and North Edinburgh Cancer Awareness and probably a few more I've forgotton about!

My other big passion in life has been good health through natural means, this interest started in my teens when a health issue made me look at diet and nutrition more deeply. I attended catering college and worked as a chef, first in a vegetarian restaurant then running a vegetarian takeaway in a health food store; both of these jobs introduced me to alternative ways of looking at life and from here I started attending classes in yoga then massage, which led to training.

Now the interest in health has come full circle as I am setting up another aspect of business - this will take a while yet but I am very excited about it and will post updates as it develops.
